Port Waratah Coal Services has been receiving, stockpiling, blending and loading coal for export at the Port of Newcastle for over 40 years. We own and manage the Kooragang and Carrington Coal Terminals, with a combined capacity of 145 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). We have approximately 330 employees working across our business, operating our terminals 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
We are committed to understanding and fulfilling our responsibilities as an employer and community member, as well as meeting our legal obligations.
Port Waratah is an unlisted public company working in partnership with more than 25 producers and other service providers in the Hunter Valley Coal Chain. Our main purpose is to deliver a high quality, cost-effective service to our customers which meets their need for reliable and equitable access to export terminal capacity.
We aim to continuously improve our environmental performance, contribute to the local economy by buying and employing locally and support sustainability and resilience of the local community though our Community Investment and Partnership Programme.
