EXTENDED STOCKTON COASTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM Notice of Public Exhibition Have your say on the draft Extended Stockton Coastal Management Program - a strategic plan to enhance, maintain and protect Newcastle's shoreline north of the Hunter River to the Newcastle - Port Stephens Local Government Area boundary. In August 2020 the Stockton Coastal Management Program was certified, establishing mass sand nourishment as the strategy to protect the coastline adjacent to the suburb of Stockton. This new Extended Coastal Management Program expands on this strategy to include regular sand top-ups to improve the longevity of nourishment as a strategy and brings in other complementary actions to protect amenity and assets along the Stockton coastline. City of Newcastle has been working in partnership with Worimi traditional custodians, the Stockton Community, Hunter Water, the Department of Climate Change, Environment, Energy and Water, and other State Government departments to develop the Extended Stockton Coastal Management Program. The draft Extended Stockton Coastal Management Program can be viewed through the 'have your say' page on the City of Newcastle website or in person at Stockton Library or City of Newcastle's Administration Centre at 12 Stewart Avenue.
